I just wonder what is the possibility of true if someone said in the past 5 years he received 1000 emails per day?

I mean what kind of job that a person will get 1000 emails per day?

the person I knew that claim he got thousand emails per day is not a property/ insurance agent.

he is also not selling/ buying anything in his job.

he is working at top local science research center with very high position.

maybe someone from here, ever received 1000 emails per day?

very common especially if you work in big service MNCs like shipping, and where they create a lot of group email addresses and you are in most of these listings. But, most of the time, only 10% you need to attend / know only. [laugh] You spend more time deleting than attending to 10% of the relevant mails. [laugh]

My GM looks at a few thousand emails everyday.

1) Messages from 50+ managed ships

2) External messages from companies

3) Internal messages from various depts

4) Instructions to the managers and junior staff below.

Easily 5 figures messages everyday.

His Blackberry bill comes to a few thousand every month. [laugh]

Having the quantity of emails is nothing.

Ask him how many he actually needs to read and take action on.

I don't understand why anyone would spend so much using Blackberry when they can use iPhone or Android where the bill will be much smaller.

There are 60 x 24 minutes in a day = 1440 mins. Take away the time for essentials, barely have time for anything else if read each one. If really 1000 mails a day, it is very sad.

that's what i mean.

some people like to talk/ tell how proud/ important him to received email 1000 emails per day.

but sometime too, this kind person not really think when they want to talk.

my opinion, is it not possible that a person with a high position in top organization/ company(not sales, property, insurance, mlm, etc) will get 1000 business emails per day.

Possible, why not??

One example I can think of is Ministers, email sure flooded with People complain, feedback and a lot other important stuff, plus CC and the list goes on. So 1k email per day is a normal or perhaps quite little.

[thumbsup] best answer. yeah i am only a executive level nia. but email recvd also alot. say around 300 ~ 400 a day. but actual need to attention to one is at most 40. the rest are just CC here CC there and reply here and reply there because of large CC list and everyone reply all.
