Correct, people working for civic service, they are very supportive on the govt. Never say anything bad about the govt infront of them, they would not like it.

Say bad things? where got time man...

All busy carrying minster's balls. From junior level all the way to Perm Sec.

True, civic sector/stats board very particular on academic results and where you obtained your paper. If you are a local grad with 2nd upper and above honours, chances of getting the job very high. Also very easy to jump from one civic sector/stats board to another.

ntu grad. but hons not so good. got a msc though.

not sure about pay.

wonder if the offer is pegged to current pay? +20%? or do they offer based on their internal budget/HR policy?

They will most likely base on your current pay. +5% to 10% most common.

more than that only if they are desperate to sign u on.

Yes. went for interview once during recession and I was worried abt job stability.

Worst interview ever for me. Could not answer a single question. Talk c--k all the way until it was so painful i just wanted to tell the interviewer sorry for wasting your time,

Still managed to get an offer... only reason i can think of is academic grades as i only had 2 yrs exp at that time.
